Dallas Cup - North Texas teams update

It just has not been a good year for the local teams at Dallas Cup XXXIII.  It is very evident the academy system has not helped the competitive side of North Texas soccer.  Before academy there were usually multiple teams advancing at every age.  Not so anymore.

U13 Dallas Texans fall in penalty kicks to Pateadores from California.  The '99 Texans rallied back from a 2-0 deficit with second half goals from Jakey LaRoe and Brandon Terwege.

U14 Solar Chelsea pre-academy were blasted 6-2 by Club Universidad Nacional from Mexico.  The match was actually 2-2 at the break, but the squad from Mexico ran wild in the second half scoring four times.

U15 No North Texas squad advanced, but the immensely talented Eintracht Frankfurt continued to roll through the tournament winning their quarterfinal 5-0 over San Nicolas from Mexico.  The 5-0 scoreline was the closest match the German team has had so far!

U16 No North Texas squad advance past group play.

U17 Both FC Dallas Academy and Solar Chelsea Academy will play their quarterfinal matches on Friday.  FC Dallas will face Rot Weiss Essen of Germany while Solar will face California powers Arsenal.

U19 Solar Chelsea Academy was the only North Texas side to advance.  They face Pateadores from California on Friday afternoon at 1:30.
