Fullerton Rangers upset Eintracht Frankfurt for U15 Dallas Cup title

The monsters have fallen.  Eintracht Frankfurt U15 boys ran roughshod over the competition at Dallas Cup for five games rolling to the finals.  They had racked up a ridiculous 39-2 goal differential in their five match run and were heavy favorites to take the title.

Nobody told the Fullerton Rangers from California though.  The Rangers came into the title match beating all comers as they knocked off three foreign sides on their way.  In the final they planned to take down a fourth in Eintracht Frankfurt.

An early goal shocked the Germans as Fullerton jumped out to a 1-0 lead within 20 minutes.  Andres Lemus headed home a rebound and Eintrach Frankfurt were behind for the first time all tournament. 

It wasn't the Fullerton offense that was the story of the game though.  It was their goalkeeper Keith Murphy who made save after save denying the Germans from evening the score.

Just after the break the Rangers doubled their lead when Amirgy Pineda bent a freekick into the upper right corner from just outside the box.  From there the Rangers defense took over.

The offensive chances kept coming for Eintracht Frankfurt, but everytime Keith Murphy stood tall.  Only in the final moments were the Germans able to get a ball past him on a corner kick.

It was too little too late though as the match was decided.  The Fullerton Rangers are Dallas Cup XXXIII U15 champions.
