FC Dallas and Portland draw as red card costs Dallas again

Another game. Another red card that cost FC Dallas dearly.  This time it was Zach Loyd that saw two yellows forcing FC Dallas to finish the final 40 minutes a man down in Portland.

Dallas had just scored a wonderful goal to grab a 1-0 lead.  David Ferreira and Brek Shea linked up to provide Scott Sealy his second goal of the year.  Then came the Zach Loyd sending off.

It was the fifth time this year Dallas were forced to finish a match shorthanded and the team is 0-4-1 in those matches.  Valuable points lost in a lost MLS season.

Portland immediately went on the offensive and FC Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman only complicated the situation as he made a goofy substitution.  One day he is going to figure out Brek Shea has no business playing forward up top by himself.

Hyndman has played Shea up there last month and it was nothing short of a disaster.  In fact, it was the main source of frustration that led to the Brek Shea blow up and benching.  Once again Hyndman threw Shea up front and took off Sealy.

The match went downhill from there and only Kevin Hartman in the Dallas goal saved the team from defeat.  Jack Jewsbury evened the game for Portland in the 79th and the match would end in a 1-1 draw.
