Though the 2-1 final score didn't reflect it, the SMU womens soccer team put on a dominating performance Friday night as they dispatched Oral Roberts.  It was the home opener as a nice crowd turned out to cheer on the side.

Overall, SMU dominated in possession and in scoring chances, including outshooting the Golden Eagles 32-6.  At the end of the night they only had a 2-1 scoreline to show though.

Oral Roberts attempted to clear the ball out of its defensive-third, but Mallory Baum intercepted the clearance and immediately found Robinson streaking through the middle of the pitch, where the midfielder drilled home a goal at the 25:12 mark from about 22 yards out.  ORU didn't even record a shot in the opening half of play.

The match wasn't in hand until Kenzie Scovill scored in the 82nd minute of play to make it 2-0.  A perfect cross from Courtney Smith found Scovill who headed home what would eventually be the winner.

Oral Roberts scored late to make it 2-1, and that would be the final score.
