After running off 8 straight wins to open the PASL season, the Dallas Sidekicks have finally been beaten.  It was on the second night of a difficult back to back road trip.   Dallas opened the roadtrip with a dominant 11-4 win over the Rockford Rampage Saturday, but heavy legs followed them for the quick turnaround in Chicago.

It was a rough and tumble match as two of the best sides in the PASL squared off.  Both sides had 3 power plays each as rough fouls were common in the first half of play.

Both sides scored in the opening five minutes of play as it looked like it was going to be a wild night.  Chicago's Nestor Hernandez gave Chicago the 2-1 halftime lead.

The Sidekicks fired right back in the 3rd period though scoring twice to take the lead.  Frank Mbemba and Jamie Lovegrove notched the goals.  A power play goal from Lovegrove put Dallas ahead 3-2.

The 4th quarter was nuts as the two teams combined for 9 goals!  Chicago looked to grab control as they scored three goals in a three minute span to take a 5-3 lead.  The Sidekicks weren't ready to give up though as Paolo Da Silva and Ricardinho answered back tying the game at 5-5.

A power play was to break the tie though after a 6th foul 2 minute penalty on Dallas.  Omar Tapia finished a rebound off of keeper Sagu.  Chicago would make it 7-5 only 2 minutes later as Tapia would score again.

It looked over for the Sidekicks down 7-5 with only two minutes to play.  Not so fast!

Dallas pulled Sagu and brought on 6th attacker Nick Stavrou.  The extra attacked paid off as Dallas scored twice in quick succession.  Stavrou and Mbemba claimed the dramatic goals.

A sprawling Sagu save in the closing seconds sent the match to overtime cashing in his players reward card.  Chicago would grab the winner in the 5th minute of overtime as star of the night Nestor Hernandez passed to Bryan Velazquez who slipped the ball past Sagu for the 8-7 win.

The Sidekicks fall to 8-1 on the season while Chicago moves to within a half game at 8-2.  The two teams will match up again this weekend as Chicago travels to Allen to face the Sidekicks on Saturday night.
