New forwards breathing life into FC Dallas

The acquisitions of forwards Kenny Cooper and Eric Hassli have energized FC Dallas.  The team had a major problem the last couple of years with depth at the forward position and these two will fix that issue completely.  Both Cooper and Hassli have plenty of MLS experience and along with Blas Perez, FCD looks set in the attack.

The move of Brek Shea to Stoke City of the EPL gave Dallas the influx of cash it needed to hit the market and take on the two players and their salaries.  The Shea deal was for almost $4 million US.

Kenny Cooper makes a welcomed return to Dallas.  He left a fan favorite for his work ethic and nose for the gritty goal and he should return in the same form.  Cooper was acquired from Red Bull New York in exchange for allocation money.  A small price to pay for a seasoned MLS veteran who notched 18 goals last season.

“We’re really excited to have Kenny Cooper back in Dallas,” said FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman.

Eric Hassli is a well traveled striker as the played for both Vancouver and Toronto FC last year.  Dallas sent TFC a 2nd round draft pick for his rights.  He is strong and able to hold the ball well up top.

“Eric Hassli is a very good player with an incredible resume,” said FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman. “He fits our needs."
