Arlington Sam Houston meeting expectations

With 16 returning seniors the boys soccer team at Arlington Sam Houston had high expectations heading into the 2013 season.  So far they are meeting those expectations.  After finishing second in the very competitive District 3-5A for three years in a row, this looks to be the year they grab that district title.

The team is off to a perfect start in district play through four matches and host Arlington Bowie tonight.  With rivals Arlington Martin with two district losses already, Sam Houston is in the driver seat for that elusive title.

"We've got 16 seniors on our squad that came back from last year and they've all played in some really big games," coach Joey Rodriguez said. "Just having that experience coming back has enabled us to get off to a fast start."

With playoff experience from years past and a senior-laden squad, Arlington Sam Houston is going to be a tough out in the playoffs this year.  First things first though is to win that elusive District 3-5A championship.
