Dallas Cup - Super Group Shaping Up

After two of three matchdays, the Dallas Cup XXXIV Super Group is shaping up nicely.  The cream of the crop is rising as the favorites have established themselves with some impressive play.  Manchester United, Fulham and Japanese side Kashiwa Reysol have shown themselves well.

Group A -
It has become a two team race as Manchester United and Kashiwa Reysol of Japan both sit on two wins.  The Dallas Texans and Club America are winless and will face off Wednesday to close group play.  It leaves a showdown for the group title and a semifinal berth between ManU and Kashiwa Reysol Wednesday at 2:00pm and what a game it should be.

Kashiwa Reysol has been extremely impressive so far and played Club America off the field yesterday afternoon in a 5-1 whitewashing of the Mexican side.  The Japan sides holds the goal differential lead over Manchester United so a draw will give them the group.  A draw would also see Manchester United go through to the semifinals as the wildcard team.

Group B -
Fulham is in complete control here after two solid wins to open Dallas Cup play.  The LA Galaxy and Brazilian side Cortiba both sit on three points and play each other Wednesday in an elimination match.  The winner would be on six points and have a chance at the wildcard spot.  Fulham closes against winless Eintracht Frankfurt and would have to suffer a multi-goal loss to lose advancement.

Fulham have been most impressive so far with a flair in possession.  The only concern is their lack of finishing matches as they have wilted in the final 15 minutes of play conceding goals in both games.

Group C -
This group is up for grabs as Brazilian side Fluminense and Aalborg of Denmark both sit on four points after playing to a 1-1 draw yesterday afternoon.  Truthfully it was a lackluster game for the most part as both teams showed tired legs from wins on the previous day.

It leaves everything to play for on Wednesday as Fluminense faces Toronto FC while Aalborg plays a disappointing Tigres side.
