A pair of Meghan Murphy goals helped lead the Southlake girls soccer team to a 4-0 win over Keller Timber Creek Tuesday night in a 5A regional quarterfinal.

It took Meghan Murphy only 5 minutes to put the Dragons on top as she fired past Timber Creek keeper Christina Hayden.  Grace Cory scored only a couple of minutes later and Southlake were in cruise control. They were never troubled in the match.

“We are playing really well right now,” Carroll coach Matt Colvin said. “We are a possession-oriented team, and we want to be aggressive that way. We were doing lots of things well tonight.”

Murphy added her second goal of the night as Southlake took a comfortable 3-0 lead into the break.  Only four minutes after halftime, Southlake made it 4-0 as Nicole Sloan scored from close range.

The only bright spot for Timber Creek was the stellar play of goalkeeper Christina Hayden who was forced into making save after save.  She notched 7 saves in the first half alone.

Southlake Carroll will next face Hebron Friday in the Region I semifinals in Midland.  Hebron upset Grapevine 1-0.
