FC Dallas earns quality point in Montreal

It was good to see the boys fight it out tonight.  Montreal is one of the toughest places in the MLS to play and FC Dallas rose to the occasion earning a hard-fought draw in front of over 20,000.

This is the kind of result that could get the team back on track.  Sure it was only a tie, but it was a gutsy one that called for the team to pull together and fight it out.  As usual, goalkeeper Raul Fernandez was fabulous.  He has been a monster signing this year and stood tall once again facing attack after attack.  Defenders George John and Zach Loyd were also at their best on the night.

The offense continues to struggle missing key striker Blas Perez who is away with Panama playing the Gold Cup.

The point leaves FCD tied for 4th in the MLS Western Conference with Vancouver.  Dallas is now winless in their last eight matches and the team has dropped steadily from 1st place over the last 6 weeks.  It doesn't get any easier for Dallas as after they enjoy a bye week they must travel West to face the Seattle Sounders on August 3rd.
