Kenny Cooper and Jackson let go by FC Dallas

The season ended with Sporting Kansas City taking the MLS Cup in penalty kicks yesterday and it did not take but a day afterwards for FC Dallas to pull the trigger on some major moves.

Kenny Cooper is on his way out as the two sides could not come to terms on a new contract.  The 29 year old striker was a disappointment last year for FCD.  He only scored 6 times in 31 games and fell out of favor after an unproductive start to the season.  Cooper will be placed in the upcoming MLS Re-Entry Draft.

FC Dallas also decided to part ways with the volatile Jackson.  Supremely talented, but also supremely volatile would be the best way to describe Jackson.  Tons of turnovers, mistakes, bad tackles and cards.  But also tons of attacking prowess.  He will be missed.  Jackson was traded to Toronto FC for allocation money and a conditional second round draft pick.

The club also exercised options to keep 15 other players on the roster for next year.  Most notably Blas Perez, Fabian Castillo, Michel, Andrew Jacobson and Matt Hedges were retained.
