Oscar Pareja made his first big move as head coach of FC Dallas since taking over last week.  It did not come without a ton of drama though.

First there was a trade rumored to be going down between FC Dallas and the New England Revolution that would allow Dallas to hop over the Revs into the 4th spot.  At the last minute the trade was called off and New England took forward Stephen Neumann of Georgetown.  That left Dallas on the clock with the 5th pick.

Just before the pick was announced Oscar Pareja called a timeout.  Yes a timeout.  Each MLS team is given one timeout for use during the draft that gives them an extra five minutes to make the selection or negotiate a trade.

Finally the announcement was made and FC Dallas decided to trade down with the Montreal Impact leaving Dallas with the #10 pick, allocation money and an international slot.  Looks like FCD got alot of value for moving down a few spots.

Wait we are not done!

Then FC Dallas moved back up to the #6 slot and grabbed prolific goalscorer Tesho Akindele out of Colorado School of Mines. Akindele notched 19 goals and 9 assists last season and was an All American selection all four years at Mines.  Tesho Akindele was on alot of radars, but really helped himself a ton when he was a standout at last week's MLS Combine.

Dallas gave the #10 pick and more to the Philadelphia Union to move up to #6.
