MLS experts not giving FC Dallas any love

Today MLSsoccer.com released a story ranking the 19 MLS clubs by their offseason moves.  FC Dallas were ranked a very disappointing 18th out of 19.  Only lowly Montreal were given a poorer grade for their offseason activities.

I guess we should not be surprised.  FC Dallas was without a coach for practically the whole offseason.  New boss Oscar Peraja has only been on the job a few weeks.  In the meantime, FCD has not done anything to upgrade the roster.  In fact, the team is noticeably weaker.

No more David Ferreira.  No more Jackson.  Thankfully no more Kenny Cooper.  Three important players that have not been replaced.  Talented Mauro Diaz will take over for Ferreira in the midfield, but any injuries will severely expose the lack of depth. As undisciplined as Jackson was, he was clearly one of the best attackers Dallas had.

More roster depth is needed.  Badly.  The long, hot Texas summer will rip this thin roster to pieces.  Hopefully Oscar Pareja and management have a few players they will be adding in the coming few of weeks.  If not it looks like 2014 could be another long year for FC Dallas fans.  While the rest of MLS grab players like Michael Bradley, Maurice Edu, Eddie Johnson and Jermain Defoe FC Dallas sits stagnant.
