Grapevine Girls rolling through District 6-5A

Halfway done and the Grapevine girls soccer team is still perfect in District 6-5A.  Eight wins in eight matches has the Lady Mustangs in firm control of the title race.

District has pretty much been a cakewalk so far as they have been blasting all comers.  None of the eight have even played Grapevine to within a single goal with Irving Macarthur the only team to score against Grapevine.

The team has only a pair of one goal losses for the season, both coming early on.  A wild 6-5 loss to San Antonio Alamo Heights and a 1-0 loss to Round Rock.

Led by the powerful duo of Taylor Braun and Tori Bowman the Lady Mustangs will be looking to build upon last year's playoff run where they advanced to the regional quarterfinals where they fell to Hebron.  Braun has signed to play her college soccer at Kentucky while Bowman will be playing at Oklahoma next fall.  Fellow teammate Brooke Ramsey has signed with Texas State.

Tuesday brings a showdown with their close rivals Colleyville Heritage followed by a Friday game at Irving.  Heritage finds themselves in the mix with a 3-1-3 record and a very stingy defense that has only allowed 3 goals so far.  But can they slow down the Grapevine express?
