Dallas Cup 2018 - Super Group update

Two matchdays are in the books at the 2018 Dallas Cup Super Group. Only CF Monterrey have been able to win both their matches so far in the highly competitive tournament leaving everything to play for in Wednesday's final matchday.  Both English powers Manchester United and Arsenal are in pretty good shape with a win and a draw so far.  Defending champions FC Dallas have only a single point from two games but are not out yet as they could flip Bracket C with a win over Queretaro.  Only Japanese side Higashi Fukuoka has failed to get a result so far.  Let's take a look at how the three brackets are hashing out.

Group A -
Tigres 4, Manchester United 4, Toronto FC 3, Higashi Fukuoka 0
Group A is a total mess as Manchester United, Tigres and Toronto FC will all go into Wednesday with hopes of advancing.  ManU has the easier path as they face winless Higashi Fukuoka while Tornoto FC and Tigres will battle it out.  Manchester United also seems to have a biy of destiny on their side if you believe in that sort of thing.  Sunday they rallied from a two goal deficit for a result and then Monday they scored a late winner playing with ten men. You definitely could see the wildcard come from this grouping as both United and Tigres would finish on 7 points if they both win.

Group B -
CF Monterrey 6, Real Oviedo 3, EC Vitoria 1, Atlanta United 1
CF Monterrey took total control of this grouping after defeating Real Oviedo 3-2 this afternoon.  After playing to a scoreless draw today both EC Vitoria and Atlanta United are pretty much eliminated.  CF Monterrey can clinch a semifinal berth with a draw or win over Atlanta on Wednesday.

Group C -
Arsenal 4, Queretaro 4, FC Dallas 1, Red Bull Brasil 1
Nobody is home free in this bracket, but both Arsenal and Queretaro are in pretty good shape and could advance with wins on Wednesday.  Watch out for FC Dallas though who definitely have the talent to flip this group with a result against Queretaro.
