FC Dallas rallies for draw with Chivas USA

Goodness this is getting ridiculous.  The season started so brightly with a run of good results that took FC Dallas to the best record in MLS.  Then came the undisciplined red cards that started the losing streak.  Next was a rash of injuries to players like Mauro Diaz, Kellyn Acosta and Hendry Thomas.  Now the team is just finding ways to not win as the winless streak hit five straight.  At least the team broke the four game losing streak.

Last week FCD somehow could not beat ten man San Jose despite bossing the game.  Tonight it looked like they found a way to lose to a bad Chivas USA squad in Frisco.  Thankfully FCD was able to get the match tied late as Fabian Castillo tapped home a Jair Benitez cross.

The decisive moment for Chivas came at the hour mark.  A long diagonal ball was misjudged by Dallas left back Michel.  The ball floated over his head where  Rosales raced to the end line.  Michel could not recover and Rosales played square to Marko Delgado who deflected the ball past Raul Fernandez.

It was a goal on the only shot Chivas USA had gotten anywhere close all night. It also exposed the problem of Michel at left back.  Let's be honest.  He can't defend at all.  He isn't athletic enough to get forward down the left into the attack often.  The only reason he is on the field at all is for his set pieces.

The draw is certainly better than another loss, but these are certainly points lost at home against a bottom club.  With so many road matches looming it is going to be an uphill slog heading into the summer where the team is going to need to go grab some good results away from home.
