North Texas boys sides with mixed results at Regionals

There used to be a day when almost every single team the Dallas Classic League sent to the Region III Tournament advanced from group play.  That is just not the case anymore as only six of the eleven North Texas boys teams made it out of group play.  The combined record of the eleven teams were 16 wins 9 losses 5 draws.  Six teams remain alive heading into the knockout rounds.  Hopefully a couple can bring titles back to North Texas!

The highly touted Wizards side from North Texas laid an egg at Regionals.  Wizards claimed 4 points from 3 group matches and failed to advance to knockout play.  They closed group play by smashing the weak side from Louisiana, but could only manage a single point from the squads from North Carolina and Florida.

FC Dallas Premier 00 also failed to progress in the competition finishing with only a single win from their three group games. Heading into their final group game all FCD needed was a draw to advance, but they lost to a team from Louisiana. Ugh. Louisiana?

Thankfully we have Solar Red 99.  Despite running off kids year after year, this team always wins.  This year is no different as the team rolled to three wins with a goal differential of 8-1.They'll face CASL Elite of North Carolina today in a quarterfinal match.  The Dallas Texans South 99s also played and were eliminated with a 1-1-1 record.  Unfortunately their only loss was to Solar Red as the two teams were drawn into the same group.

FC Dallas Premier 98 took care of business with two wins and a draw in winning their bracket.  Today they face Charlotte United in a quarterfinal matchup today.

Under 17 -
FC Dallas Premier are putting on a show winning all three of the games thus far and notching ten goals in the process.  They next face Louisiana Fire in a quarterfinal.  A disappointing performance from FC Dallas Gold at Regionals as they finished bottom of the Group A.  After winning their opener FCD Gold lost their final two matches to crash out.

Under 18 -
FC Dallas Premier 96 advanced by grabbing two wins and a draw.  They topped the group on goal differential and next play the Arkansas Comets in a quarterfinal Tuesday.  FC Dallas 96 did not fare so well as they failed to advance losing all three games.

Under 19 -
The Dallas Texans 95 won their bracket with two wins and a draw.  Next up is Team Boca from Florida in a semifinal Tuesday.
