Season drags on as FC Dallas loses to Houston

The summer heat has arrived to welcome FC Dallas to a long summer which began with a 3-1 loss to rivals FC Dallas Saturday night at Pizza Hut Park.  It was the same old poor defensive effort from FC Dallas, unfortunately to go along with it was some woeful finishing in what could have been a very different scoreline.

The opening 10 minutes of play saw FC Dallas on the attack and a Houston side that could not even string two passes together.    Unfortunately the only thing FC Dallas had to show for it were missed chances from Kenny Cooper and David Ferreira.   Then in the 13th minute Houston got their first attack and cashed in on the woeful Dallas backline.  Cam Weaver got on the end of a cross and deflected it home for the lead completely against the run of play.

FC Dallas gathered themselves and went right back on the attack as Ferreira, Dax McCarty and Dave van den Bergh supplied plenty of attack, but the shoddy finishing could not be overlooked.  In the 37th minute the Dynamo got the second goal as Richard Mulrooney fired home a beauty from 30 yards out.

The 2nd half saw Dallas introduce an active Brek Shea to the match.  (It is still a mystery how this kid doesn't start)  More wasted attacks followed as Kenny Cooper just is not comfortable in front of goal.  Just as FC Dallas changed to three in the back Houston struck again.  This time Corey Ashe slid a perfect ball to Cam Weaver for his 2nd goal on the evening.  FC Dallas pulled one back thru Drew Moor, but that would be all as Houston Dynamo claimed the El Capitan.
