Dallas Sidekicks get past Tulsa Revolution 7-5

The score was much closer than the actual game.  Tulsa came into the Allen Events Center with a solid gameplan.  They sat back all night and looked for quick counters.  The Dallas Sidekicks, who were missing front line players like Shamu, Uremovich, Stavrou and Ricardinho, fell into the trap too many times.

The strategy also cost Tulsa several times as they dropped so deeply into their own zone they gave Dallas some very easy goals.  But, in the end, the very conservative strategy allowed Tulsa to stay within 2-3 goals most of the night though they never really threw much of a scare into the Sidekicks.

Dallas got the first two goals of the game as Jamie Lovegrove finished before Shaun David was allowed to walk right in and fire home as three Tulsa players watched.  Frank Mbemba was the best player on the field for the night.  He notched a hat trick which included an impressive shootout where he rounded the Tulsa keeper to finish into an empty net.

In the end, the Tulsa Revolution stayed within shouting distance all night long, but never put much of a scare into the Sidekicks.  If Dallas had rolled out their full squad the match would have not been close.  The Sidekicks move to 3-1 on the season and return to action Sunday as they face the Austin Capitals in the Open Cup.
