The SMU mens soccer program announced their five man recruiting class for 2011 today.  The class includes two players from the metroplex with Emmet Kumeh from Lake Highlands and Aaron Simmons from Mansfield.

Alexander Blanton is a goalkeeper from Brentwood High School in Nashville where he played club soccer for Brentwood Premier '93, the 2010 Tennessee state champions. Blanton is a member of the Tennessee '92 Olympic Development Program as well as the Region III '92 Team.

Devin Cook is a goalkeeper from Stony Point High School in Round Rock, Texas where he played club soccer for Lonestar SC.  Cook was also a 2009 adidas ESP participant and played in the 2010 New York Red Bull Cup.  Cook is ranked as the #87 recruit in the country and is ranked #9 in the region by TopDrawerSoccer.com.

Emmet Kumeh is a defender from Lake Highlands High School in Dallas where he plays club soccer for Solar SC. A four-year letter winner, Kumeh has served as team captain the past three seasons.

Aaron Simmons is a midfield and defender from Mansfield High School in Mansfield, Texas. Simmons comes to SMU ranked as the #38 recruit in the nation and second in the region by TopDrawerSoccer.com. He plays club soccer for the Dallas Texans and captained the U16 and U18 academy squads as well as his Dallas Texas '93 team. Simmons led the Texans to the 2009 USYSA National Title.

Will Smith is a midfielder and forward from Norman North High School in Norman, Okla. Smith plays club for NYSA Celtic '92, where he has served as team captain for the past five seasons, leading his team to the 2010 State title.

"We are really excited about this year's class," McClements said. "We feel we have a strong group of freshmen coming in, and all of these players have the ability to make an immediate impact on our program. This class fills several of our needs and will be a great complement to the players that are currently in our program."
