SMU men lose Conference USA opener at home to Central Florida

SMU was looking to continue the good vibes from their impressive win at UCLA Saturday night in Dallas. Instead they ran into a buzzsaw as Central Florida continued their impressive play running over SMU 4-2.

UCF controlled the game from the start and never trailed in the match. UCF opened the scoring in the 33rd minute as Nik Robson collected a rebound after a wonderful save from SMU keeper Jaime Ibarra. Only two minutes later it was 2-0 UCF when Eduardo Jiminez put home a cross.

In the second half it was UCF star striker McKauly Tulloch doing the damage as the notched his 11th and 12th goals of the season to put the game away..

SMU's goals came through Ben Hill and Damian Rosales on either side of halftime. The loss leaves the Mustangs at 5-4-0 on the season while UCF zips forward at an impressive 8-1-1. Next up for SMU is a daunting three game road trip with games at Tulsa, Marshall and South Carolina.
