The SMU mens soccer team swept a pair of games at the SMU Classic over the weekend.  It was a weekend for the freshman as all six goals were scored by the youngsters.  Saturday night SMU ran out 3-1 winners over Liscomb.  Robbie Derschang opened the scoring in the 4th minute of play.  TJ Nelson made it 2-0 after 27 minutes.

Lipscomb received a red card just before halftime and were forced to play the 2nd half a man down, but pulled to within 2-1 with 30 minutes to play.   AJ Corrado added insurance for the Ponies with his goal in the 85th minute. Corrado collected the ball after a deflection on an SMU free kick from about 18 yards out and buried it in the back of the net for his first career goal.

In Monday's finale against Seattle it was once again the freshman taking center stage as they notched all three goals in the 3-0 victory.    Juan Castillo, Ben Hill and Chris Sendejas claimed the goals as SMU moved to 3-0 on the season.  Keeper Craig Hill made a sprawling save on a Seattle freekick late on to preserve the shutout.

Next weekend SMU travels to Tulsa to play SIU Edwardsville and Western Illinois.
