A school record crowd of over 1200 turned out to watch a thrilling affair between SMU and North Texas.  SMU pulled out a tough 3-2 victory in overtime.  The first half ended even at 1-1 as UNT opened the scoring before SMU equalized.  Julie Lackey started the game's scoring in the 28th minute when she headed in a cross from Nikki Crocco.  SMU tied the match through Ryanne Lewis.

North Texas earned a penalty kick in the 63rd minute when Kelsey Perlman was taken down in the box. Ellen Scarfone then converted the ensuing penalty kick, her third score of the season, to give the Mean Green their second lead of the night.

Shelby Hartweck knocked in a low cross from Courtney Smith to equalize the game in the 74th minute, and send the contest to overtime. Logan May scored on a low cross four minutes into the extra session to give the Mustangs the victory.

"We knew it would be this type of game, and go down to the wire," said North Texas Head Coach John Hedlund. "SMU got the goal, and we did not, and now we have to move on to conference play."
