TCU soccer ends Oklahoma trip with a point

It was a difficult trip to Oklahoma for the TCU womens soccer team.  On Friday they were in Stillwater to face Oklahoma State and they finished the trip on Sunday afternoon in Norman against Oklahoma. The end result was a hard fought draw against Oklahoma State and a loss to OU.

Friday night's game was a wild one as the two teams battled to a wild 3-3 draw.  It was a tale of two games almost as TCU raced out to a 3-0 lead only to see Oklahoma State rally with three goals of their own.  Two goals from Monica Alvarado and a goal from Maddy Courvoisier staked TCU to a 3-0 lead after only 35 minutes.

That's where the fun ended though as Oklahoma State made a furious rally.  Three goals in the next 18 minutes from OSU and the match was all even again.  There were plenty of chances for both sides from there, but neither was able to break the tie.  The draw ended a four match losing streak for TCU.

Sunday's game didn't go as well for TCU as Oklahoma broke open a tight game in the second half.  OU led 1-0 at the break through Emily Bowman, but TCU hung close.  A pair of goal after the hour mark gave the home side a comfortable 3-0 lead.  TCU grabbed one back late as Brittany Slyman finished her own rebound for the consolation goal.

After the road trip TCU sits 0-4-1 in Big 12 play and is still looking for their first conference win.  Next weekend TCU closes out their home schedule hosting Texas Tech and UT.
