The TCU womens soccer team opened the 2008 season with a dominating 5-0 win over visiting Stephen F Austin Friday night.  Freshman Jordan Calhoun and junior Lizzy Karoly each netted two goals as the TCU women's soccer program blanked the 2007 NCAA Qualifier SFA at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.  Karoly, a junior from Escondido, California,  put the lady frogs after only five minutes off an assist from Jackie Torda. Karoly split two Ladyjack defenders and drilled a shot into the back of the net past SFA's Crystin Pactor.

In the 11th minute of the match, freshman Jordan Calhoun increased the Horned Frog's lead, netting a goal off an assist from Torda. Right before the half, Calhoun connected on her second goal of the night, this time off an assist from senior midfielder Caroline Starns.  Following Karoly's second goal in the 84th minute, sophomore Nikki Wilbur put a punctuation mark on the night, booming a goal past Pactor off a corner kick by Karoly.

TCU goalkeeper Kelsey Walters was solid all night as she saved six shots, while Pactor, who faced pressure for nearly the entire match from an aggressive TCU offense, recorded six saves.   Overall, the Horned Frogs played in front of 1,134 fans Friday night. On offense, Karoly led TCU with two goals and one assist, while Torda recorded two assists. Calhoun set a new TCU record under Abdalla in the match becoming the first freshman to net two goals in her debut, while Wilbur notched only her second goal of her career in a Horned Frog uniform. On defense, Walters posted her fourth shutout of her career, while the Horned Frogs held the Ladjacks to only six shots-on-goal.

TCU moved to 1-0-0 on the year, while Stephen F. Austin dropped to 0-1-0.  The Horned Frogs will next be in action next Friday against Xavier. Start time is set for 7 p.m. at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.
