TCU Women win at Arizona State 1-0

In their first road test of the 2008 season, the TCU Lady Frogs edged the Arizona State Sun Devils, 1-0, Friday at Sun Devil Soccer Stadium. TCU has posted a shutout in three of its first four games, one shy of its total number from last season. With the win the Lady Frogs move to 3-0-1 on the season and could start getting some attention on the national stage.Coming off of her Mountain West Conference Player of the Week honor and Soccer Buzz's Elite Team nod, freshman sensation Jordan Calhoun scored the lone goal of the match off an assist by junior Lizzy Karoly in the 20th minute to give TCU the victory. It was Calhoun's sixth goal of the young season. The score also marks Calhoun's fourth goal in the last seven days. The cross from Karoly is her second assist of the season. The Lady Frogs took advantage of a top notch outing from the defense and sophomore goalkeeper Kelsey Walters, who had five saves on the night. TCU were outshot by ASU, 16-6, and saw the Sun Devils enjoy more attempts from the corner, taking 10 chances to TCU's lone corner. TCU remains undefeated on the season and look to keep the momentum in their favor as they take on Northern Arizona in Flagstaff, Ariz.ona on Sunday at 2 pm central time as they look to keep their unbeaten streak alive.
