TCU headed east facing a tough road test as they were to play at Memphis and Mississippi over the weekend.  On Friday, TCU passed the first test with flying colors as they routed #17 Memphis 3-0 behind a second half flurry.

The match was scoreless at halftime, but TCU came out flying in the second half.  In the 56th minute, Kelly Johnson netted her first career goal, blasting the ball from 35 yards past Kuhar-Pitters off a throw in by Mechalske.   TCU continued to pressure the No. 17 Tigers a few moments later when Taylor struck one from outside the box, but couldn't make the score 2-0 in favor of the Horned Frogs. Calhoun just missed connecting at the 60:32 mark when a Lady Tiger defender stepped in front of the junior to derail the shot attempt.

In the 70th minute, Kristen Barg posted her second goal of the season darting into the box and sliding it past Kuhar-Pitters off a cross by Kristen Halverson.   An own goal in the 84th minute, gave the Horned Frogs a 3-0 decision for the game. On the play, freshman Brittany Slyman appeared to have scored off an assist by Castleberry, but the ball played off a Lady Tiger defender for the own goal.

"I am really proud of the girls effort tonight," said head coach Dan Abdalla. "To come into a nationally ranked opponents house and pull out a win is great for our program. The girls put together a great performance tonight against a nationally ranked opponent in Memphis. Both
Kelly Johnson and Kristen Barg did a great job tonight and really gave us a spark. That entire freshman group really gave us a spark tonight, which is great. I am proud of the girls. They continue to get better daily and that is all we can ask of them. Overall, it was a good night for us."
