The TCU womens soccer team opened the season with an impressive 2-1 win in Austin over Texas Friday night behind two goals from Jordan Calhoun. The win broke Texas' record of 26 straight unbeaten in Austin and should propel the Lady Frogs into the NCAA rankings next week. Jordan Calhoun opened the scoring for TCU in the 5th minute off an assist from Kylie Garcia. UT would answer back though as play went back and forth in an entertaining first half of play. Texas tied the match with a Leah Fortune goal. The second half saw both teams searching for the winner, but it was TCU that grabbed it. In the 85th minute it was Jordan Calhoun once again. This time Jackie Torda played a beautiful ball between two Longhorn defenders to Calhoun who put the ball into the back of the net. TCU keeper Kelsey Walters came up with a huge save with only a minute left to preserve the victory for TCU. Next up for the Lady Frogs soccer team is a match on Tuesday night in Fort Worth with the Mexico Womens National Team.
