TCU women plugging along looking for consistency

The TCU women have been plugging along so far this season posting a 3-2-1 record so far. They are clearly looking for some consistency and to put together a winning streak. Last weekend they tied Houston 2-2 and defeated Northwestern State 4-3. The Lady Frogs seem to be able to score plenty of goals....the problem is on the defensive side of the ball where they have allowed 9 goals. Throw out the two shutouts over clearly inferior competition and whenever TCU has played a team of any quality they have given up goals in bunches. Friday night was a physical match with undefeated rivals Houston in Fort Worth. TCU twice took the lead in the game, but Houston rallied to tie the score both times. The match ended 2-2 after overtime. Cheryl Martin and Alex Mechalske claimed the goals for TCU. Sunday afternoon an 80th minute goal from Kaylie Garcia led the Frogs to a 4-3 come from behind victory over Northwestern State. It was a very satisfying win considering the team had to play over 60 minutes with 10 players after keeper Kelsey Waters was sent off. Next up for TCU is a very difficult match with nationally ranked Oklahoma State on Sunday in Fort Worth.
