US Under 20 National Team headed for Dallas Cup XXXV

The US Under 20 National Team will be featured in the upcoming Dallas Cup Super Group.  It will mark the first time since 2010 that a US National squad will be playing Dallas Cup.

The U20 National Team is beginning its preparation process toward forming the roster for the 2015 CONCACAF Championship where four teams from the region will advance to the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup from May 30-June 20 in New Zealand. Coach Tab Ramos will be using the wonderful competition at Dallas Cup to help identify and prepare prospects to head into the qualifying process.

There will be plenty of noteworthy competition for the American U20s at Dallas Cup as already confirmed for the tournament are last years champions Fulham from England, Eintracht Frankfurt of Germany, Chivas of Mexico, Cortiba FC and Fluminense from Brazil along with the academy sides from FC Dallas and LA Galaxy U18s.

Several noteworthy Dallas Cup alumni have starred with US National Teams, including Landon Donovan and DaMarcus Beasley from the 1999 tournament, Michael Bradley in 2003, and MLS Rookie of the Year Dillon Powers in 2010. Players expected to participate in this year’s edition include FC Dallas homegrown product Kellyn Acosta, who was a member of the USA’s 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup team; Chivas USA midfielder Marco Delgado; and Lorient FC midfielder Romain Gall.
