Tournaments Galore for Week 3 of 2009 High School Soccer Season

With district approaching area coaches were tweaking their lineups and looking for that right mix at local tournaments throughout North Texas last weekend.  The Arlington Martin Tournament had several top teams in the field. Two champions were crowned.  In one final, Sachse defeated Flower Mound Marcus in a shootout after going scoreless through regulation and two overtimes.  The other final saw Flower Mound defeat Arlington Martin 3-2 behind a pair of goals from Zachary Spaulding.

Colleyville Heritage took the Alvarado Invitational with a 2-0 win over Duncanville.  Trey Campbell and Max Allen scored the goals.  Frisco Wakeland won the Little Elm Winter Invitational with a 2-0 win over Hebron. Aaron Reifschneider was the hero scoring both goals in the final.

Plano took the Mesquite Skeeter Cup as they beat Skyline 2-1 in the final.  Plano defeated Garland 2-0 in the semifinals while Skyline beat South Grand Prairie to get there.

On the girls side, it was Richardson Pearce defeating Allen 1-0 to win the Brazos Valley Tournament.  Kathryn Watson notched the winner.   Highland Park won the Longview Tourney with a 1-0 win over Whitehouse. 

Several top teams were on hand for the Colleyville Heritage Allison Horn Tournament.  Coppell claimed third place with a 2-1 win over Nolan while Dallas Ursuline took the title defeating Plano West by a 2-0 score.
